Why the Elite Stepped Plate Range?
“The elegant simplicity of the Elite Stepped Plate range complimented the Edwardian and Art Deco architectural features in our period home,” she explains. The streamlined design of these plates offered the perfect balance between modern sophistication and a nod to the home’s historical elements, seamlessly blending into her carefully curated interiors.
The Appeal of Toggle Switches
One of Nina’s favourite design elements is the toggle switch. For her, it’s not just about functionality; it’s about the experience. “We adore the toggle switches—the vintage look and tactile feel combined with a really satisfying click – we love them!”

“The Functioning Finishing Touch”
For Nina, details matter, “How you experience an interior is affected by the things you touch- the surfaces, fabrics, sockets and switches - they all have the power to lift and shift your emotions. Light switches and plug sockets are the functioning finishing touch to a room - the element that makes it work for modern living, however it's been styled.”
Why Heritage Brass?
“For us it's about the quality of the product as well as how they just "look". My interiors are all about the quality of the finish. We've used inferior brands in the past, dimmers that have failed just outside the warranty. Knowing that something has been well made, with any number of combinations of switches available on individual plates, is why we love Heritage Brass switches and sockets.”
Nina’s Top Design Tip: Keep It Coherent
When asked for her advice on updating switches and sockets, Nina stresses the importance of cohesion: “Check that the finish complements the other elements in your rooms, keep it coherent throughout your space so it all flows together and that the style works with the architectural features in your home. If you have a modern interior, keep to clean, less ornate lines.”
